Chen IPL Mission:
Enable the design of prototype medical/health devices for discovery and translation to catalyze breakthroughs that have real-world impact. The scope of prototypes includes neurotech, precision health, human performance, rehab, patient care, robotics, therapies, and assisted living.
Accelerate lab-to-real-world deployment and foster innovation.
Facilitate prototype system design and implementation.
Validate devices from lab to relevant settings and applications.
Train students with system-level thinking.
Emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration
The Chen IPL welcomes researchers from any department on the Stanford campus, and even researchers external to the university. Stanford researchers are able to design and build a system themselves, or collaborate with IPL's experienced engineers.
