“The long-term goal of my lab’s research is to understand how the brain integrates internal body state and external sensory information to maintain the balance in the body. In particular, we investigate various aspects of homeostatic regulation and innate behavior including (1) thirst and satiation mechanisms, (2) short- and long-term appetite regulation, and (3) interaction among peripheral, interoceptive, and neural signaling.”
