Looking ahead, we are filled with excitement for the inaugural Chen Institute Symposium for AI Accelerated Science, organized in partnership by the Chen Institute and UC Berkeley College of Computing Data, Science, and Society (AIAS2025) in San Francisco on October 27-28th. This gathering will feature keynote talks from John Hennessy (President Emeritus of Stanford University), Stuart Russell (UC Berkeley), and Anima Anankumar (Caltech), along with other leaders in industry and academia for keynote talks, poster sessions, and the presentation of the Chen Institute and Science Prize for AI Accelerated Research. We look forward to celebrating the winners and hearing firsthand how their groundbreaking work is transforming the scientific enterprise. |

In an exclusive interview published by 21st Century Business Herald, a well-known Chinese business and finance media outlet, Tao Hu, founder and chief scientist of NeuroXess, TCCI researcher, stated that the domestic brain-computer interface (BCI) industry has undergone significant internal and external changes in the past two years, leading to a new peak in its development. He noted that from a technological evolution perspective, the BCI industry's progression is similar to the upgrade of autonomous driving from L1 to L5, representing a comprehensive competition of capabilities.Tianqiao Chen told the 21st Century Business Herald that nurturing great, world-class companies requires "patient capital." New Flexible BCI Paving Way for Clinical Use |
|
|
|
TCCI researchers Tao Hu, Mao Ying, and Chen Liang collaborated on the development of a universal implantable flexible brain-computer interface (BCI) system compatible with various applications.The system allows for the flexible mind control of a wide range of physical and digital devices, having achieved precise control over more than 20 types of devices. The system's information transfer rate (BPS), with a similar training duration, is comparable to the level achieved by subjects in Elon Musk's Neuralink trials.This work represents the first-ever clinical trial for the long-term human implantation of a MEMS high-throughput, high-resolution flexible BCI, laying a crucial foundation for the clinical translation of this technology. TCCI is the author's affiliated institution for this study. |
